Holmes County's first quilt shop began in 1965 in the Amanda Miller family kitchen as a small fabric store serving the Amish Community. Today we have expanded into two buildings to provide a large variety of fabric, notions, batting and stencils. Our skilled personnel will help you choose from over 8,000 bolts of calico and other fabrics, whether you're beginning a new project or finishing up an old one!
We also offer a beautiful selection of ready-made quilts in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. Other accessories available include quilted wallhangings, pillows, potholders and a variety of unique handcrafted items. You'll also find a large selection of stitchery items, including quilt blocks, pillowcases and crib quilts. As you browse through hundreds of quilt books and patterns you'll be inspired to create a special keepsake for you or your loved ones.
In 2016 Naomi Miller, along with her husband Henry, took over ownership from previous owner Mary Troyer, Mrs. Miller's daughter. Read Naomi's bio below:
I started working for Amanda (Mrs. Miller) in 1993, working for her till I got married three years later. From 1997 through 2014, I would help out during sales and events as needed. Also during that time we had 3 children: Rachelle (22), Benjamin (18), and Anthony (17). And a precious and so-much-fun granddaughter Aurora, who will be a year old in June.
After our children were all in school, I worked for Chestnut Ridge Sewing for a couple of years, and also have been an EMT for seven years now, becoming the EMS chief of Swiss Valley Ambulance last year.
In November 2014, Mrs. Miller's daughter Mary, the previous owner, contacted me, wondering if I would be interested in coming back full time. I said yes, and as Paul and Mary would say, a prayer was answered when I said yes again to purchasing the store a year later."
